Using this with on an Epson 3880.This is an excellent paper, especially if you like bright vivid colors. That said, you do need to be careful of what you print on it as some images won't look right since this is a textured paper. If you do shots with lots of foliage, or landscapes where a textured paper helps, this paper works and works well, especially for color images given its wide color gamut. That said though I would be careful of what I print on it as some things won't look right on it being this is a textured paper. It basically comes down to matching the paper with the image printed. I tend to do photos with a painted look, especially trees and landscapes where a textured paper works; however, images for example with lots of open blue sky may work with this paper given its textured surface. Epson however also makes a hot press version of this paper where the surface is smooth rather than textured. The paper is a bit thick and heavy so for those using the 3880 you'll need to feed this through the manual rear or front loader of the printer. And yes... this does use matte black ink.My only negative is this paper tends to flake, and as such, you may notice dropouts that look like tiny dust particles where the ink didn't stick. A friend who uses this paper suggests brushing over the paper with a horsehair brush prior to printing to remove any dust or loose particles. That a great idea and one I will take heed of. For now, I have two 13 x 19 prints that are unusable because of this issue. The other thing I would suggest is printing these only when ready to frame because stacking them on top of each other and moving them around will produce what looks like slight rub marks on the raised textured parts of the paper.Given those precautions, this is an excellent matte paper with a high Dmax (B&W tones) and wide color gamut that works exceptionally well, especially for color prints without giving the dull matte paper look.If you need a textured matt paper this is definitely one to look at. Recommended.
